At Within, we believe in simplicity and transparency. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our weather app.

Data We Collect

Location Data

We access your device's current location only to fetch weather data for your location. This location is sent to Open-Meteo (a public weather API) to retrieve weather information. We do not store, log, or track your location on any servers.

Saved Locations

Location names you choose to save are stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Data We DON'T Collect

  • No personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • No account creation required
  • No analytics or tracking
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No cookies or web tracking
  • No data shared with third parties (except the weather API request which includes coordinates)

Third-Party Services

Open-Meteo API

We use Open-Meteo's free weather API to provide weather data. When you request weather data, your coordinates (latitude and longitude) are sent to their servers to retrieve weather information. Open-Meteo is a non-commercial, open-source project.

Data Storage

  • All preferences and saved locations are stored locally on your device
  • We do not have servers that store your data
  • Deleting the app removes all stored data from your device

You can deny location access at any time through your device's Settings. Without location access, you can still manually search for and save locations to view weather data.
